D.C. is not the only city now suffering the terrible wrath of an insecure President Trump. Cities across the country are being threatened with military occupation due to a hoax crime wave that he manifests into reality for his cult followers. In recent days, President Trump has threatened NYC, Boston, Chicago, and Baltimore with military occupation, specifically the latter two. He claims that these blue stronghold cities, which don’t even appear on the top 25 most dangerous cities list, are crime-infested… coincidence?
Trump Attacks Chicago
While speaking to the press, Trump claimed, “Chicago, Illinois, is a mess… It’s a disaster what’s going on in Chicago.” He later called Chicago “a killing field”. In response, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker told the press that he would “take him to court because it’s illegal. It’s unconstitutional.” Firstly, JB is right when he said that Trump was trying to “manufacture” a crime epidemic- especially when you read the PBS headline “Chicago sees historic drop in violent crime during first half of 2025”. Secondly, the 1878 Posse Comitatus Act clearly defines what Trump is threatening to do to these cities as illegal. The federal statute prohibits the use of the military to enforce domestic law or to act as law enforcement or a police force.
No doubt Donald Trump wants to use the National Guard and the military as his own police force, and in doing so, he is openly breaking the law, yet Republicans still bow down to him. He is embracing his inner dictator, and the people follow him like sheep, just like he wants.
Verbal Abuse of Baltimore
In the past, Trump called Baltimore a “rodent-infested mess” and “crime-ridden”. He is satisfying his base, but not satisfying the facts that homicides and deadly crime are at a four-year decline. Similarly to the Chicago threats, he would be in open violation of Posse Comitatus. He is doing all of this to justify his hoax crime wave. Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott sums up this situation perfectly:
“This is the latest effort by the president to distract from the issues he should be focused on, including the roller coaster of the U.S. economy thanks to his policies… Violent crime is at historic lows in cities across the country under the leadership of mayors who have brought together partners from law enforcement, the legal system, and communities to reduce violence. The president could learn a lot about leadership from them.”
Where is the Crime, Trump?
Donald Trump says he cares about crime. Out of the four cities he threatened to invade, only one cracks the top 25 cities with the most crime. If he truly cared about crime, he would go after Memphis, Tennessee. The city has a crime rate of 112.9 per 1000 residents. On top of that, 19/25 of those most dangerous cities are in Red States. 13 of the top 20 cities for homicide rates have Republican leaders. 8 of the top 10 states for homicide rates are led by Republicans. Do you know how many of those red states and red cities he has sent his own personal secret police into? 0. A hoax crime wave and the invasion of U.S. cities… we have 3 more years of this!
